Revising the School Directory was discussed
Kirsten Adams suggested several ideas to enhance the school directory. She brought in the directory from another school that her child attended. The cost to re-do our directory would $500.00. She suggested having parents advertise their businesses in the directory, to cover costs.
3.
Guilford Citizen Day Parade
The parade is on September 19, 2009. Liz Gabel has entered Our Lady of Mercy into the parade. The children will wear the summer uniform. Younger children will be pulled in wagons. Meet in Guilford at the green at 8:45am. Our school theme will be “Let Our Light Shine” (school theme is correct, but not for the parade, the parade has it’s own theme)

The Innisbrook Fundraiser is underway. Amy Minuit has scheduled the representative from Innisbrook to speak with the children on Friday, September 11th. HSA is going to sponsor 1st and 2nd place gifts for the classes, that sell the most gift wrap. First place will be a pizza party and dress down day. Second place will be a dress down day. Call her if you have any questions about the fundraiser @ 203-415-7222.

The Fall Festival will be on Saturday, October, 10th. Mass will follow at St. George’s Church at 5pm. Anotonella Bacchiocchi is organizing the event. Call her with any questions. Due to the extensive groundwork that needs to be accomplished, the OLM Fun Run has been postponed until next fall. A committee will be formed in the spring. If you have any experience with running such an event, please contact Liz Gabel @ 458-8883.

Cookbook-Fundraiser. Kristen Melnick is organizing a cookbook fundraiser. She is in the process of gathering recipes from parents. The deadline for recipes will be Thanksgiving. She will be selling advance copies of the book by December and plans to distribute the cookbook in April. The book will sell for approximately $15.00.

The Holiday Boutique. –November 6th & November 7th. Liz Connelly is planning a meeting on September 14th at 9:30am in the foyer for anyone who would like to help out.

Mother/Son dance-We have set a tentative date of January 22nd. The theme will be “Winter Wonderland”. HSA is going to look into having a dance instructor come and guide the boys through some dances.

Scrips-Lisa Engelhart said that it is off to a great start! Diane Decensi worked it out so that all retail and grocery orders can be processed together. A letter is going to be sent out to the faculty to get them involved in the program too!

Volunteer forms- Gail O’Neill created a wonderful spreadsheet to keep track of who volunteered and what they are volunteering for. “Thank You’

Sports Booster- HSA is going to look into selling concession items at the games. Kristen Melnick owns a portable concession stand that we could use to sell hot and cold items at soccer games.
12.
Outreach-Jackie Carrigan suggested having the children go to the Columbus House. They will prepare, serve and interact with the people at the shelter. Grades 3-8 will be able to participate.
