Home and School Association Newsletter –
May 20, 2009
Congratulations to all the winners and participants in the Sister Frances DeSales Poetry Contest!
Your poise and self-confidence were very impressive!
Enclosed in this week’s Blue Folder is a summary of all the Curriculum Enrichment programs and activities that the HSA was able to sponsor this year. Part of your dues and fund-raising efforts enable us to provide these events that enhance our students’ educational experience at OLM – and they are a lot of fun! Thank you to Christina Martin who coordinated Curriculum Enrichment this year. Christina also applied for and received an “Arts Presentation Grant” of $625 from the Connecticut Council on the Arts and Tourism. Well done!
Our Last outreach project for the year
will benefit the organization Paying It Forward run by OLM’s Santoro family. This organization supports working mothers and their children living in the Bridgeport area. The Sisters of Mercy train the mothers in a profession so they can provide for themselves and their children on their own. We will be collecting “Summer Fun” items such as buckets and shovels, water toys, beach towels, sunbrellas, flip flops, sunscreen, etc. Please deposit items in the decorated shopping cart in the school lobby.
If you have any questions, call Sheryl Phillips at 245-3122.
Please consider nominating yourself or someone you know to be an HSA officer or representative for next year. For us, participating in HSA has been a gratifying way to meet friends and assist the OLM community to be the best it can be. There are positions with varying levels of time commitment - we are sure there is one for you!
***Information regarding HSA Positions for the 2009/2010 school year is on the OLM web site: www.olmschool.homestead.com***
