Co-Leader: Three individuals are needed.
Co-leaders will oversee the coordinators/chairs of the various aspects of HSA events/functions as well as one major fund-raiser. Co-leaders will assist and support these chair persons in their duties and report progress at HSA Meetings. The distribution of duties among the three Co-leaders will be agreed upon in June prior to the 2008/2009 school year.
The following is an example of how the Co-leaders duties may be distributed:
Co-Leader 1: Oversees Socials, Curriculum Enrichment and Sports/Travel Raffle
Co-leader 2: Oversees Outreach, Sports Booster and Holiday Boutique
Co-leader 3: Oversees Room Parent Coordinator, Hospitality and Auction
Recording Secretary: Takes minutes at monthly HSA Meetings, compiles and sends out HSA meeting agendas compiles the weekly HSA Newsletter with input from committee chairs.
Communications/Publicity Secretary: Works with Assistant Principal to promote OLM School and it’s events to the outside community, including advertising in local papers, and church bulletins. In particular, this individual will coordinate publicity for Open Houses during Catholic Schools Month. Works in coordination with staff member to publicize worthy school events and achievements.
Treasurer: Works with OLM accountant to monitor HSA expenses and revenues, maintains HSA expenditure records, develops budget with input from other HSA officers, assists individuals chairing events and programs where HSA financial matters are concerned (cash advances, reimbursement of expenses, etc)
Community Outreach: Research and implement outreach projects throughout the school year. Continue effort to have Upper School students work on Community Outreach - leaving the school to lend a helping hand and service to those in need locally. Job requires making calls, getting permissions in place, co-coordinating with teachers and classes, making flyers and notices, delivering collected items, scheduling and transporting students when necessary.
Sports Booster: Works in cooperation with OLM Athletic Director to promote the school’s sports programs and supplement equipment when needed. Coordinates concession stand at home games.
Social Events: Coordinates adult, family and children’s socials with help from volunteers. Events may include, but are not limited to: Fall Festival/Grandparents’ Day, Scavenger Hunt, Bingo Night etc. New events or substitutes are also encouraged.
Curriculum Enrichment: Researches and schedules programs that lie outside the classroom curriculum involving cultural and visual arts, sciences, language arts, etc. Works with administration and teachers to establish best schedule to accommodate all age groups.
Room Parent Coordinator: Meets with Room Parents and coordinates them in their duties which may include: Welcoming new families, New Parent Tea, Teacher Appreciation Breakfast, encouraging participation in various school events, and involving parents in classroom activities which vary, depending on the grade and teacher.
Hospitality Coordinator: Works with other committees to provide refreshments at various school functions, especially Open Houses and other school events
